I should begin this entry with a caveat, I am not a professional blogger. The contents of this site are likely going to be disjointed and all over the place. Recently, I started a quest to find new employment as I'll be moving away from Sheffield and back to my hometown, so far I've had two interviews at two different financial institutions in Leeds, so we will see what transpires. Although I have been working in financial crime, it seems most of the external jobs currently available at the UK banks are customer service focused, presumably with the idea of progression being internal. Not to worry, I've moved up before and can do it again.

Within my personal life, I'd like to begin seriously learning Mandarin as all the odd characters, phrases and words that I know thus far are from communicating with friends over the years. Previously when I lived in Futian, I made use of Duolingo (indeed - the regional pricing in China's Mainland is more attractive than the UK pricing) - learnt 你的豆腐，我的茶 - and not much more. At the moment, it is not financially feasible for me to pay for 1-2-1 lessons, so perhaps I should use an HSK app or three. Watch this space.

Aside from that, I purchased a 2012 Mac Mini from Xian Yu, installed an x64 copy of Windows 7 Ultimate and the rest is history. I was able to fully setup this site, and seemingly with use of Legacy Update software, it works well, despite it's 3rd gen M CPU.

最近我开启了求职之旅，因为我将要离开谢菲尔德，搬回故乡。到目前为止，我已经参加了利兹两家不同金融机构的面试，后续发展如何，拭目以待。我一直从事金融犯罪相关工作，但眼下英国银行放出的外部岗位大多偏向客户服务，想来晋升通道主要依靠内部提拔。不过没关系，我以前有过晋升经历，再来一次也没问题。

个人生活方面，我打算认真开始学习普通话。迄今为止我零散认识的汉字、短句和词汇，都来自多年和朋友交流积累。之前住在福田的时候，我用过多邻国（没错，中国大陆区的定价相比英国要划算得多），只学会了你的豆腐，我的茶，除此之外几乎一无所获。目前我负担不起一对一课程，所以或许试试一两款 HSK 学习 App。敬请期待。

除此之外，我在闲鱼入手了一台 2012 款 Mac mini，安装了 64 位旗舰版 Windows 7，之后的事就不用多说了。我靠它搭好了整个网站；借助 Legacy Update 工具，尽管这台机器搭载的是第三代 M 系列处理器，运行效果居然还不错。
